The fitting and placement process for dentures varies depending on the type of dentures we have selected.
Immediate dentures are placed immediately following the removal of your natural teeth; they protect the tissues and reduce bleeding after tooth extraction. Immediate dentures may come in a full or partial set.
Conventional dentures are placed approximately 8-12 weeks after tooth extraction when the gum tissue at the extraction site has healed.
Fitting and placing conventional dentures usually requires several visits to our office. First, we take impressions and a wax bite to ensure the proper dimensions of the denture prosthesis. Next, we help you try on the denture to ensure proper color, shape, and fit. Lastly, the final denture is placed.
